![]() ![]() ![]() Don't get me wrong, SteelSeries hardware is not bad, but their software, especially when GG launched in place of SSE3, is kinda. I know, i know it's not MSI's fault, but they collaborate after all. I pay horrendous money for flagship laptop to have my RGB killed due to devs pushing the updates too fast. I ask, where is feedback from "testers"? How no one is finding those bugs? Those, with more knowledge will Google about the problem, try to reinstall or to revert if they will find the setup.exe, meanwhile non tech savvy guys must wait patiently for the fix. Once, the macro recorder wasn't working at all for anyone with SS keyboard, now, MSI laptop users won't have their keyboards/aurora detected. COMPATIBLE WITH: Windows 7 Windows 7 64 bit Windows 8 Windows 8 64 bit Windows 8.1 Windows 8.1 64 bit Windows 10 Windows 10 64 bit file size: 145.3 MB filename: SteelSeriesEngine3.17.0Setup.exe. Why do i even need updates to this?! If it would add an interesting app or maybe new creative Aurora config then i would not protest, but mostly those "stability" things break more than they fix. DOWNLOAD SteelSeries Engine 3 Driver/Utility 3.17.0. When i will have an inspiration/time to play games i will redo my old configs, for now i will be happy with my Default, Plain and Audio Visualizer.Ĭan i say it out loud? I hate it when software developers can't let you disable auto updates, the user should be allowed to choose when to update his freaking RGB software controller, it's not something that should be up date all the time, right? Why i must block it manually in firewall and not just tick the auto update box in options. exe's in firewall, i will not go through this again. Thanks You Reddit, damage has been done already but it's working now. Also lost some configs due to bad syncing. OMFG i've just lost about 2 hours fighting with this crap, before i thought to check out reddit. When I was on version 17.0.0, the boxes were gray and said "not connected". ![]() I attach a picture of how it looks when it recognizes the keyboard and the bar. Perhaps this has not happened to everyone, but it is worth warning to prevent. My only solution was to roll back to version 16.1.0, where everything started working normally, so I'm assuming the problem is with the latest version. I tried many solutions like restarting the computer, reinstalling the latest version of the program, reinstalling the RGB drivers, deleting temporary files, but none of these worked. I just couldn't turn on the RGB on the keyboard or the bar. When the program was updated, it stopped recognizing the Per-key RGB and Aurora engine. Today the Steelseries GG program was updated to version 17.0.0. Hopefully this solution works for you guys as well. It seems like the problem is Windows is blocking it from pinging a SS server so it won't advance past that stage in opening the software. Launch SteelSeries GG and it should work. Hello, I wanted to make this post as a notice and warning. Completely close all SteelSeries software in Task Manager. ![]()
